Air Show

In September we got tickets to the Air Show down in Colorado Springs. I thought it would be fun for the boys to go and see all the planes. We ended up getting there late due to Caleb's football game, and Brock not feeling 100%. Plus once we got there we saw all these buses that we thought were tour busses dropping people off. Little did we realize until we were well on our 1 mile hike to the air field that they were buses to shuttle people to the air field. So by time we got there the boys were tired and hot. We promised them a ride on the bus back but the wait was like an hour and it was like a 15 minute walk so they were out of luck and we made the trek back to the car. We only got to see a few of the acts but they were pretty cool. They had a tonm of vechiles that the kids could lcimb all over and inside. Cooper and Brock had a blast doing that. It was a fun thing to experience as a family and give us a little bit more appreciation for what the men and women who serve our country do!

Grandma and Grandpa Vegas Visit

In September we were lucky enough to have Grandma and Grandpa Vegas come and visit us for a few days. It was so much fun to show them our home, town we live in, and the boys school.
It was a relaxing visit. We hung out and visited most of the time. Cooper and Brock "helped" Grandma learn how to use her apps on her iphone. They played cars and trains, Cole learned how to to do headstand, we watched Caleb's football game, and Grandpa's favorite part, we drove down to Colorado Springs and had Rudy's BBQ.
We learned the secret to Grandpa's happiness while he was here, Rudy's BBQ, Pepsi and Murder She Wrote on Netflix!! Over all it was a short but nice and relaxing trip!

Camping Labor Day Weekend

This Labor Day Weekend we met up with some friends of ours and went camping. We have branched out a little this summer and decided to camp more. The boys are all old enough and with all boys what else are we gonna do all summer. We went to Wellington Lake. It was so nice our campsite was like 50 yards from the water. The boys got into swim and play around. Luckily our friends came prepared and they had tubes and rafts for the kids to play on.
The water was freezing but they didn't care. They also tried their hand at fishing but had no luck. Our friend was a trooper because our boys have never been fishing before and they were constantly getting their lines tangled and losing their bait but he was so patient and just kept helping them.

We camped for two nights, it was a little cold the second night but everyone survived. It was so nice to be out in nature and just relaxing. And let's be real, I love any vacation where there is no cell reception. No calls for Tank makes me a happy woman!
We loved our little getaway and spending time with friends!

Cole Awards Day

This post is a lot late but it needed to be added. The last week of school, they had an awards assembly. Cole's teacher sent out an email saying he would be receiving an award and we could come if we wanted to. So, Tank, Cooper, Brock and I all went. There were only a few awards given out Music, PE, Art, Attendance (No chance in heck we were getting this award) and the Wrangler Award. They gave an award for each of these categories to one boy and one girl. They called out Cole's name for the Music Award. I had to laugh because that has always been his least favorite class probably due to his speech. So I told Tank he probably got it because he was the best behaved boy in Music. So I took a picture and put the camera away. Then they announced they were giving out the Wrangler Award which was voted on by their peers for the student who best represented what a Wrangler (they are the Sage Canyon Wranglers) should be. They called Cole's name again. He received two awards when most kids didn't even receive one. He is super good at school and loves to help out. We are so proud of him especially with the rough start he had at the beginning of the year with the move. Cole you are awesome! We love you so much!!

Cori's Visit

The Gang top of Castle Rock trail
In August, we were lucky enough to steal Cori, Cali and Gabriel away from Vegas for 2 days to visit. We kept super busy while they were here. We went to Pump it Up, Hot tubbing, hiked Castle Rock, had Movie Night (Clue, my favorite), cleaned the church, Pancake breakfast, a picnic to Devils Head, played at the park, had an impromptu talent show by the boys, and ate yummy food all in less then 48 hours!! It was so much fun but I think we might have worn them out for the rest of their trip!

This Summer we went to Devils Head to go camping and for a hike. We are still novices at this whole camping thing but we really enjoy it so I am sure we will become pros by time we are done getting 4 boys their Eagle Scout awards. We headed up on a Tuesday afternoon and set up camp. We just did the bare necessities for food, hot dogs roasted over the fire, chips, pop and for dessert, Smores and roasted starbursts! We explored the area and went on a few walks. That night as we sat around the fire we played 20 questions and then I just asked the boys get to know you questions like favorite movie, vacation etc. We slept pretty well that night it was pretty warm and then we woke up and had breakfast and went to go hike Devils Head. It is a pretty good little hike. It is 3 miles round trip but the first half is pretty much straight up hill (at least it seemed like it with a 5 and 3 year old walking the whole thing!) All in all the boys did pretty good and when we got to the top, there was about 150 steps and then you reached an old Fire Tower that you could see out like 100 miles each way. It was beautiful! The hike down was much easier and I kept the boys entertained by telling them Club Penguin stories.

First Day of School!!

The boys stared school on August 3rd this year. Caleb is in 5th grade with Mrs. Crowe. Cole is in 2nd grade with Mrs. Theirbault, and Brock started afternoon Kindergarten with Mrs. Chadrick. They are loving school this year. Cole did awesome this time around. He didn't even want me to walk him in! He is getting so big. Caleb is getting to experience all kind of cool 5th grade stuff. He is a Wrangler Tech which means he gets to help out in the computer lab. He is also Cole's reading buddy every Friday. They both thought that was so cool to be able to spend time together during school. Brock has done great in school so far. He said the funnies thing on Friday when I picked him up. He came running out of his classroom saying" Mom, guess what?... I was so good today I get the whole weekend off. I don't have to go back to school until Monday!" My response.... " that is awesome! You should be that good every day so you can have every weekend off!!" I love these boys! They are the best kids a Mom could ask for!!
