I thought it would be fun for the boys to go and see all the planes. We ended up getting there late due to Caleb's football game, and Brock not feeling 100%. <img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; height: 300px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5673788503163571458" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguC6Ji30bFJ7oStTZRpXFGSkl6MnnLfRYkjhGLxqUbytV2tMpuem4l5-461laol3-w2pX5SVvoPBhJ76-r4oPYHA7txQ9pdQKatTbAOOavYRAdoLFa0F2JYhZyqAdlQvR2sc6Zf67Pcy_1/s400/P5260179.JPG" />Plus once we got there we saw all these buses that we thought were tour busses dropping people off. Little did we realize until we were well on our 1 mile hike to the air field that they were buses to shuttle people to the air field. So by time we got there the boys were tired and hot. We promised them a ride on the bus back but the wait was like an hour and it was like a 15 minute walk so they were out of luck and we made the trek back to the car. <img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; height: 225px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5673788501027202562" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYrT9r5qWX3wa5V-Y1B3fQiFkA5Py_buD5KnQ2ubjmQ_jFSb_7j075PkR-DavVSkmaXP4EjcV7br6XhCzGmefWBUKlsWsVCHO1kDke2PfnkhMyuNJluupL06f2psq-OpzRk6IGzAlYfsq7/s400/101_0024.JPG" />We only got to see a few of the acts but they were pretty cool. They had a tonm of vechiles that the kids could lcimb all over and inside. Cooper and Brock had a blast doing that. It was a fun thing to experience as a family and give us a little bit more appreciation for what the men and women who serve our country do!<br /></span><div><div><div align="center"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcXuGjg7yuNqL0d9XzlcLRegCH0S_hGcgAPCvdcR1Olg8dGY99prE6VaOBDdixlwqGITiW1oGUKSG8M_mWIM5TOclKepeSP7-g-c_6fKTlCIngXq6uxnr6CisLsFJFeYDKkpCg5_1EwMqh/s1600/101_0043.JPG"><span style="font-size:130%;"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; height: 225px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5673788003491895714" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcXuGjg7yuNqL0d9XzlcLRegCH0S_hGcgAPCvdcR1Olg8dGY99prE6VaOBDdixlwqGITiW1oGUKSG8M_mWIM5TOclKepeSP7-g-c_6fKTlCIngXq6uxnr6CisLsFJFeYDKkpCg5_1EwMqh/s400/101_0043.JPG" /></span></a><span style="font-size:130%;">Cooper guarding the Kettle Corn<br /></span><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgF9jEKx9Yv5BTxzTCvv2cmAEQ-ys0rzdc6dun6nX9-EYmd8GUxQl-Ba3X7N0iQa0nBQuCMKzKCdras-Oc_RJGd28gpaYVXZ8QWQbfTTcbY8bGVrpIV6flCEcH0yVpS2UT7CvuVZ49dqZ50/s1600/101_0013.JPG"><span style="font-size:130%;"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; height: 225px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5673787995862699298" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgF9jEKx9Yv5BTxzTCvv2cmAEQ-ys0rzdc6dun6nX9-EYmd8GUxQl-Ba3X7N0iQa0nBQuCMKzKCdras-Oc_RJGd28gpaYVXZ8QWQbfTTcbY8bGVrpIV6flCEcH0yVpS2UT7CvuVZ49dqZ50/s400/101_0013.JPG" /></span></a><span style="font-size:130%;">Tank, Cooper, and Brock in the Helicopter</span></div></div></div></div></div>Christel Stearmanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14942720721474056886noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1618899820740282767.post-1713324347656142402011-11-11T00:48:00.004-07:002011-11-11T10:12:41.192-07:00Grandma and Grandpa Vegas Visit<div align="center"><br /><span style="font-size:130%;"> </span></div><div align="center"><br /><div><div><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgO-OmGJS0QUGXXwpgprBD0yz3-tKOm2l8Azu2Pc0vbkCQk9zRWMzS0KqFYqOL4LhfvI3XZ_Y7E5QEA43qGIMqhVwkz0YvR4_Wz5mGvoZhPRkrMugEwZDFdPWJATW1NAmFObJ88hyljz08I/s1600/P5170152.JPG"><span style="font-size:130%;"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; height: 300px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5673778397111728402" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgO-OmGJS0QUGXXwpgprBD0yz3-tKOm2l8Azu2Pc0vbkCQk9zRWMzS0KqFYqOL4LhfvI3XZ_Y7E5QEA43qGIMqhVwkz0YvR4_Wz5mGvoZhPRkrMugEwZDFdPWJATW1NAmFObJ88hyljz08I/s400/P5170152.JPG" /></span></a><span style="font-size:130%;">In September we were lucky enough to have Grandma and Grandpa Vegas come and visit us for a few days. We have branched out a little this summer and decided to camp more. The boys are all old enough and with all boys what else are we gonna do all summer. We went to Wellington Lake. It was so nice our campsite was like 50 yards from the water. The boys got into swim and play around. <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">Luckily</span> our friends came prepared and they had tubes and rafts for the kids to play on.<br /></span><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTvBAO5HEcxBD1RiwmriVLuIkmoGRhWY_SjQSFmIqfleIW5q6lTqVgMxTwqNF4fJf2q1jDrViTT6saIT7vkfI2B0MsZyCOAPMsNsvHyrvldhyphenhyphenB7knJDznQ8OHsb5SEWrVpcBfI2UdzOtXS/s1600/128.JPG"><span style="font-size:130%;"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; height: 300px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5649657272252305714" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTvBAO5HEcxBD1RiwmriVLuIkmoGRhWY_SjQSFmIqfleIW5q6lTqVgMxTwqNF4fJf2q1jDrViTT6saIT7vkfI2B0MsZyCOAPMsNsvHyrvldhyphenhyphenB7knJDznQ8OHsb5SEWrVpcBfI2UdzOtXS/s400/128.JPG" /></span></a><span style="font-size:130%;">The water was freezing but they didn't care. The last week of school, they had an awards assembly. Cole's teacher sent out an email saying he would be <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">receiving</span> an award and we could come if we wanted to. So, Tank, Cooper, Brock and I all went. There were only a few awards given out Music, PE, Art, Attendance (No chance in heck we were getting this award) and the Wrangler Award. They <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">gave</span> an award for each of these categories to one boy and one girl. They called out Cole's name for the Music Award. I had to laugh because that has always been his least favorite class probably due to his speech. So I told Tank he probably got it because he was the best behaved boy in Music. So I took a picture and put the camera away. Then they announced they were giving out the Wrangler Award which was voted on by their peers for the student who best represented what a Wrangler (they are the Sage Canyon Wranglers) should be. They called Cole's name again. We are still novices at this whole camping thing but we really enjoy it so I am sure we will become pros by time we are done getting 4 boys their Eagle Scout awards. We headed up on a Tuesday afternoon and set up camp. We just did the bare necessities for food, hot dogs roasted over the fire, chips, pop and for dessert, Smores and roasted starbursts! We explored the area and went on a few walks. That night as we sat around the fire we played 20 questions and then I just asked the boys get to know you questions like favorite movie, vacation etc. We slept pretty well that night it was pretty warm and then we woke up and had breakfast and went to go hike Devils Head. It is a pretty good little hike. It is 3 miles round trip but the first half is pretty much straight up hill (at least it seemed like it with a 5 and 3 year old walking the whole thing!) All in all the boys did pretty good and when we got to the top, there was about 150 steps and then you reached an old Fire Tower that you could see out like 100 miles each way. It was beautiful! The hike down was much easier and I kept the boys entertained by telling them Club Penguin stories.<br /></div><div><div><div align="center"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMCCDtkX3UVjj-GC_i5k3GLxVPNw3eBJC4VjQ2dOyxC0jGcSailQ5rJU_PuxaJvpN3tWrQ7NC8IghGDkdJRSO1p5w_B7Urm1OVVepX0I2_8uvNP3bvjARsZXiRvNq8IFtQE1e2E9xXtzAk/s1600/061.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; height: 300px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5649636749618476642" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMCCDtkX3UVjj-GC_i5k3GLxVPNw3eBJC4VjQ2dOyxC0jGcSailQ5rJU_PuxaJvpN3tWrQ7NC8IghGDkdJRSO1p5w_B7Urm1OVVepX0I2_8uvNP3bvjARsZXiRvNq8IFtQE1e2E9xXtzAk/s400/061.JPG" /></a>On the trail to Devils Head</div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; height: 300px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5649636763447069442" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmK89N3CRjoqNdUTIQu2YwasxI6v8rK23rNIxgOkj9YUMTmgYiziY6Q7kUoAJdK2kTWr4bhrlv_wzd8DMwp0AA1PJJgm9JNkysCfce2z66INMt-0dU3rgpPQHlgeAngx7T9CnN0VySVfS4/s400/078.JPG" /></div><div align="center">Exhausted after a long hike</div></div></div></div><br /></div>Christel Stearmanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14942720721474056886noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1618899820740282767.post-86568641890007744712011-08-23T14:04:00.000-06:002011-08-23T14:18:05.739-06:00First Day of School!!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiK2LsqzSGuwcTOJ62xmvb9YfEFxeZDUZf0AA1iu65e8BoiA7WFTfKBSXGYHFhh06koq6waaayr9-DtaDo5dGlxxIqaDPIkt9h5o6dcyOjiLFqOJrIu7eK_qEZNIiRYpU2lYjos5Ci-w6_D/s1600/Brock.jpg"><span style="font-size:130%;"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 300px; height: 400px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5644145943433876130" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiK2LsqzSGuwcTOJ62xmvb9YfEFxeZDUZf0AA1iu65e8BoiA7WFTfKBSXGYHFhh06koq6waaayr9-DtaDo5dGlxxIqaDPIkt9h5o6dcyOjiLFqOJrIu7eK_qEZNIiRYpU2lYjos5Ci-w6_D/s400/Brock.jpg" /></span></a><span style="font-size:130%;">The boys stared school on August 3rd this year. Caleb is in 5th grade with Mrs. Crowe. Cole is in 2nd grade with Mrs. Theirbault, and Brock started afternoon Kindergarten with Mrs. Chadrick. They are loving school this year. Cole did awesome this time around. He didn't even want me to walk him in! He is getting so big. Caleb is getting to experience all kind of cool 5th grade stuff. He is a Wrangler Tech which means he gets to help out in the computer lab. He is also Cole's reading buddy every Friday. They both thought that was so cool to be able to spend time together during school. Brock has done great in school so far. He said the funnies thing on Friday when I picked him up. He came running out of his classroom saying" Mom, guess what?... I was so good today I get the whole weekend off. I don't have to go back to school until Monday!" My response.... " that is awesome! You should be that good every day so you can have every weekend off!!" I love these boys! They are the best kids a Mom could ask for!!

We had an unplanned trip down to St. George the week and a half before so we celebrated on July 7th with Grandma and Grandpa Eves, and Uncle Brandon. Then on his Actual Birthday we met up with Dad in grand Junction on our way home. We stayed in A hotel there. We went to Applebees for dinner and then headed back to the Hotel to go swimming and then we had a netflix party watching Phineas and Ferb and eating popcorn. Not a bad night for a 3 year old. When we got back to Colorado he had his big present waiting for him (and mom to put together) a two seater Dune Buggy Power Wheels car. So we headed out early on May 1st. We flew to Philly and then down to San Juan. It was a long day of travel but it was nice to finally get there. We checked in and went to get some dinner. We ate at a restraunt in the Hotel Caribe where we were staying. It was somewhat authentic Puerto Rican food. They use plantains which are shaped like banans but taste more like potaotes. After dinner we headed to check out the beach and hotel swimming pool. </span></div><span style="font-size:130%;"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; height: 267px; text-align: center; display: block;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5612634399867782194" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgv4rCi_FrKQnRq161cPrl8l6w79QQzlUb0Mdi7ZEeed_vzM_CtjU8GrzqKUj5CmJxr3wzSkkc4Anl61ynFMyLE_6h3zUG_7m5WQ1QDxU-YoZQVZFbvBkAqz6pUqOivFoYIOXlahOQAAdaI/s400/IMG_0260.JPG" /></span><div><span style="font-size:130%;">Monday</span></div><div><span style="font-size:130%;">We took the shuttle over to the Convention center to register. Tank got hooked up with all kinds of cool stuff including a Xoom (like an IPad), digital camera, camcorder, sunglasses, flip flops, and money for our food while we were there. After we got back we went a group and ate at a hole in the wall Puerto Rican restraunt in Old San Juan. After lunch we explored the Fort and went souvenior shopping. We had sinner at the hotel; and went and workout in the weightroom which over looked the beach. It was raining for the first 2 days we were there so we didn't do much beach or swimming time.<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; height: 267px; text-align: center; display: block;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5612635767168757314" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTo9JTTo1fbu7oFIXCgJe-_O_BZhHMqY93g40PbKyJAhSl5CCAxuYfSmUat_zL-iernQqcrS9YqR7gTD3frQkDiRqS5_ITM08W0Jc30N5655JGHj7YqXlfwTc2nj4_ynIj9nFQfGtb9w5s/s400/IMG_0269.JPG" /></span></div><div><span style="font-size:130%;">Tuesday </span></div><div><span style="font-size:130%;">This was a work day. We went and got a couples massage which was really nice. After our massages we hwent to Senor Frogs for Lunch. That night they had a private screening for the Best Buy Employees and guests for Fast Five. Which I was super excited about because for those of you who really know me, know I love me some Paul Walker. It was a really good movie especailly if you like the Fast and Furious Series. Then we went with some other Colorado Best Buy people to dinner. </span></div><div><span style="font-size:130%;"></span> </div><div><span style="font-size:130%;">Thursday</span></div><div><span style="font-size:130%;">Today we had our excurision. As you can tell by the pictures it is not quite Spring here yet. They had a great time and thanks to Tank's friend Chris who is really good friends with one of the Rockies Pitchers (Matt Lindstrom) they got to go to the game for Free! The Rockies won 5 to 1. I am sure this was just the first of many Rockies games we will see while we live here. The new school the boys are at is on a modified traditional schedule. Which means it is pretty much a traditional schedule but they get two weeks <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">off</span> in the fall for fall break and two weeks off in the spring for spring break and then they go back to school in August 2 weeks earlier! It worked out really nice for us <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">because</span> we decided to make one big trip out of their break. So here is a recap of our trip.... (beware it is long!!)</div><br /><div>TRIP TOTALS: </div><br /><div>Miles Traveled- 2200</div><br /><div>Days gone - 20 days</div><br /><div>Cities visited- 8 <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error">Kaysville</span>, Syracuse, Salt Lake, St. George, <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-error">Las</span> Vegas, Henderson, Grand Junction, Edwards, CO </div><br /><div>States Traveled through - 4 Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Nevada</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Our first week:</div><br /><div>We traveled to Grand Junction from Castle Rock on Wed night. Tank had work at the store there on Thursday morning. When he was done we traveled to <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-error">Kaysville</span>, UT where the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_5" class="blsp-spelling-error">Hendersons</span> were nice enough to put us up for the night. Brock had an appointment on Friday with Dr. Dries at Primary <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_6" class="blsp-spelling-error">Childrens</span> Hospital to have an Exam Under <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_7" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">Anesthesia</span>. Lisa watched the other 3 boys for us while Tank and I took him. Everything went well with the (<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_8" class="blsp-spelling-error">EUA</span>) the doc said he wanted to research a little more into <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_9" class="blsp-spelling-error">Brocks</span> <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_10" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">condition</span> and get back to us on whether he wanted to do more surgery. (Which he has and he does with the possibility of putting in a permanent lens in each eye more to come on that when it unfolds!) </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>That night we headed over to the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_11" class="blsp-spelling-error">Christensens</span> where we stayed for the rest of the time in Syracuse. Saturday we had a great day hanging out with some of our Syracuse friends we miss so much. The girls went to lunch and then Lisa was nice enough to open up her house for all of the families to get together for dinner and visiting. Tank flew back to CO for work so it was me and the boys! We hung out Sunday and Monday we got together one last time for some <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_12" class="blsp-spelling-error">Arctic</span> Circle and some bowling. Tuesday morning I packed the boys and our stuff up in the car and headed to St George but not before Brock and Caleb locked my keys in the car and the Syracuse Police Department came and unlocked it for me. (I will sing their praises for that since I was a little down on them for taking about an hour to come to the scene of my accident a year ago!)</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Week two: </div><br /><div>We went to St. George on Tuesday and spent the week there hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa Eves and <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_13" class="blsp-spelling-error">Criddle</span>, Uncle Brandon (who had the boys over 2 times for a sleepover at his place) The Eves family (Ryan, <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_14" class="blsp-spelling-error">DM</span>, <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_15" class="blsp-spelling-error">Jayla</span> and <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_16" class="blsp-spelling-error">Kenedy</span>) We even managed a Day trip to Vegas to watch Erick play a baseball game and have Metro Pizza. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Wed March 30: </div><br /><div>Tank flew in Vegas the night before and me and the boys headed down to meet him and spend some more time with our cousins, aunts and uncles and Grandma and Grandpa. We met Tank at his parents and hung out and visited for a while. Then we headed to the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_17" class="blsp-spelling-error">Hafens</span> to have dinner and play with more cousins. We stayed in our timeshare Wed and Thurs night. Thurs night we had a BBQ at the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_18" class="blsp-spelling-error">timshare</span> and had <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_19" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">Grandma</span> and Grandpa Vegas (<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_20" class="blsp-spelling-error">Stearman</span>), Dre, Vinnie, and James, Bo, Monique, Wesley, Kala, and Zach, Natalie, Rachel, and Erick, and Bear and Stefanie come and eat, swim and celebrate <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_21" class="blsp-spelling-error">Wesleys</span> <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_22" class="blsp-spelling-error">bday</span>. She was great with them and she even paid Caleb and Rachel for helping her out! Saturday Natalie and I entered the grass <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_23" class="blsp-spelling-error">vball</span> tourney St George was having. It was a beautiful day and it was a lot of fun! It was the end of our trip we packed up the car and headed to Grand Junction where we stayed the night again so Tank could visit the store there again. We got on the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_24" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">road</span> for our last 4 and a half hours home and about an hour into the drive we started to see signs that the 70 was closed due to snow. We got as far as Vail and we had to get off. This was about 1:30 and the weather wasn't looking up so we decided to get a hotel wouldn't ya know that everyone else had the same idea. So we ended up in a 2 bedroom condo in Edwards, CO it was really nice and it was great to have space but we could have done without the extra expense. The roads were clear the next morning and we got on the road.. Caleb and Cole got to miss another day of school but we made it home and life is back to normal now!! It was a great time and I really enjoyed seeing all the people we love so much!!</p>Christel Stearmanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14942720721474056886noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1618899820740282767.post-49825128985634478472011-04-13T14:13:00.011-06:002011-04-13T15:00:38.590-06:00Eves Family Pictures<div align="center"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 592px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5595168372683037538" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFC8ekCW3mU_wuF-T2AYdVJhNYVCGa_hgEXz9FvDZu0nk7MHwDDJtbCZqWb-w5Ik3NeyZnF0I4QBHK9dpf8K5NGcPaN6MnSIGssXZfZ2fIVzW1gdCVDQAKrcSdfSim5SiaillYw5Oh2qLx/s400/Stearmanfamily4.jpg" /><span style="font-size:130%;"> </span><span style="font-size:130%;">While we were on Spring Break this year we took a little trip(which I will post about soon!) Part of our Travels included St. George. We were lucky enough to have the whole Eves Family together which doesn't happen too often now that we have moved. I gave him some <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">Tylenol</span> and he went back to sleep. The next morning he woke up with a cough and it was one of those dry <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">barky</span> sounding coughs but it wasn't all the time. He has a major gag reflex so <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">every time</span> I gave him medicine he would cough and gag it up. I was never really able to get his fever down, so after staying up with him all night on Sunday I decided that I would take him into the urgent care seeing how it was a Holiday. </span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;"></span> </div><div align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;">It didn't open until 7am so as soon as it opened we headed in. I <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-error">was</span> <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">filling</span> out the paperwork and Cooper started coughing. One of the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_5" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">doctors</span> heard him and asked me if it was him coughing. He then had me take off his coat and lift his shirt so he could see his chest. He told the nurse to get us back ASAP. We immediately got taken back and then the whirlwind began. </span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;"></span> </div><div align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;">They got him on a breathing treatment and then they drew blood, put in an IV, gave him a steroid shot in his leg, added some antibiotics to his IV, took 6 X-rays of his throat and chest, and tested him for RSV. The chest X-rays <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_6" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">came out</span> fine, the throat x-rays showed that his throat was swollen. His breathing was getting better they had him on what they called blow by oxygen which basically meant it was near his mouth and nose but not actually on it. </span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;"></span> </div><div align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;">The doctor said that Cooper needed to be observed for 4 hours because sometimes the breathing treatment works but when it wears off that the kid can <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_7" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">relapse</span> and it will be even worse. So they wanted us to go to this lovely place to be observed. </div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 464px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 354px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5576745853107171826" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTuYLobzfLDRXFJVyUu-9kLaoU3gLTkZ7QUNiJn0xrWJ_DXB-IIe3og47_w4hFeeEUYREwBaNqT0VbccWhwQ2sBCIvaTUMaaJNT0dCON37560JEe1WnoW6sveOUUd8vaHp8WzXDuVTu_-z/s400/childrens+hospital.jpg" /></span> <p align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;">Aurora <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_8" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">Children's</span> Hospital. </span></p><p align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;">But the hospital was 30 minutes away so the doctor arranged this for our mode of transportation.<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 537px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 382px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5576745851008092418" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNrnkXlfA7HpmR1-vNEPnVcOqHL2bfngLufR-u1Y8oT1urQ_SbGGR1JF6ych-jlJhLV7-2cQUmwxJ7zckMttDOIVdvaSMRuv3AH4h2rliKx6mT4_SCgaInMhlS76D9nGBiJXxjgIWgwfRI/s400/Castle-Rock-Ambulance.jpg" /></span></p><p align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;">So Cooper and I were in the back of the Ambulance headed to the Hospital by 8:30am. I know what you are thinking, this must have been so serious. That is what I was thinking, I was freaking out what is really going on is this normal precautions here in Colorado or what. I was pretty sure Cooper had Croup and I was merely taking him in to get the Steroid shot to open up his lungs and bring the swelling down. That is what they do in Utah.<br /></span></p><p align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;">So Cooper and I get to the hospital after talking to the nice EMT/Firefighter on the way there. Cooper was doing a whole lot better on the way he was looking around and answering me where as when we were at the urgent care he was being pulled to and fro so fast neither of us knew which way was up. </span></p><p align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;">They admit us into a room, hook up a tube with Oxygen and saline to put near his mouth and nose, get his little monitor on him for his Oxygen level and then we wait. We talked to three different doctors they eventually turn off the oxygen because he is doing fine, We watched Toy Story 3 and Finding <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_9" class="blsp-spelling-error">Nemo</span>, Cooper is laughing and playing. Finally at 1:00pm I call the nurse to see if they can come check on us because it has been past 4 hours and he was fine. </span></p><p align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;">They came and discharged us, the crappy thing was since we were so lucky to have gotten a ride in the ambulance I had no car and I still had the keys to my car with me so Tank had to come out and pick us up. So Needless to say we left the house at 6:45am and got back at 4:00pm. Cooper is doing great. I am pretty sure the urgent care was just covering all their bases and all of that was not necessary at all. I am grateful that it was done because if it had been worse we would have needed all that and I really do think Cooper would have been just fine with the Steroid shot but I think with the IV and <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_10" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">antibiotic</span> he is doing better much faster. </span></p><p align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;">But all in all it was a very long day for him just having Croup. </span></p>Christel Stearmanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14942720721474056886noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1618899820740282767.post-83847812255994361872011-02-06T11:45:00.011-07:002011-02-11T17:47:35.075-07:00Happiest Week Ever!! (Very Long Post!!)<div align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;">The time had finally come for our long awaited trip to Disney World. We have been planning for about a year and we were ready. Our flight was at 11:30am on Saturday Jan. 22nd. We checked in and got to the gate relatively smoothly with 6 people, 6 backpacks, and 2 strollers. The boys were so excited this was Cooper’s first plane ride and the first one Brock could remember. We were all in our seats ready to go and Cooper started coughing and then threw up all over his blanket and clothes. He had a bit of a cold so I figured he had just gagged when he was coughing nothing new here. The first flight was to Detroit and the boys did really well, Cooper didn’t get sick again. We deplaned, grabbed some dinner and I headed into the bathroom to try to rinse out and dry Cooper’s clothes. Luckily he got a snuggie for Christmas and I put him in that. Well wouldn’t ya know he coughed and gagged all over that too. So luckily I had a jacket and his pants were almost dried so I changed him into those clothes. We got on the plane headed to Orlando and he gagged again. So needless to say I was about done and I have a super sensitive smell so I was using all the wipes and hand sanitizer I had to get it smelling somewhat normal. But other than that the boys did really well! We got our bags and rental car and headed to our hotel.

<br /></div><div align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;">Sunday Jan 23rd
<br />We woke up and got ready for the day and headed over to Cracker Barrel for brunch. We had bought 7 day tickets so we decided to go to Hollywood Studios for the later part of the day to watch some shows and see Fantasmic! We were able to watch the parade and meet some of the Character. Caleb, Cole, and Brock all got autograph books for Christmas so they were eager to get them filled up. We saw Mater, Lightening, Mr. Incredible, Frozone, and Leo and Annie. </div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 267px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5570651617191544642" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGfvjkrl8UGRuMcaBuQL3QgmJFDtnVHS4NC806Q_SDjDaOsIBXpDMwSOECRRvaHXdTzopA8lN5cJf1EMz2J4JGkvySnkN04iPRfgmiqbFPUlcqnPYf4dgqBAVV3oV6xbW7z6Y66WjkNt66/s400/IMG_0036.JPG" />

<br />We woke up and checked out of our Hotel, we had our timeshare for the rest of the week which was closer to Disney World. We headed over to the Magic Kingdom for a few hours before we had to go grocery shopping and check in to the timeshare. The boys got to ride a few rides and then we headed out. After the shopping was done and we had dinner, Tank, Caleb, Cole, and my brother Brandon all went to the Orlando Magic vs. Pistons Basketball game. </span></div><div><span style="font-size:130%;"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 267px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5570651631802809154" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6JYxekb7_JrjdZ8GRGaBCTjw5JIqANpQR8wcbq1lyXbjQlQ5YKYkyqmulionowy-8xRr9Mqq0edB7xCNhHaAMFBFs40QhCF1ZQNzAqJzpRZ7KI0ylv4ixJ-WwnncCAZo-8mHNjJrewVaL/s400/IMG_0050.JPG" /></span></div><div><span style="font-size:130%;">Tuesday Jan 25th
<br />We got up early and headed over to the Pop Century Resort where the rest of the gang was staying. We got on their bus and headed over to the park. We had made these cool shirts to wear while we were there so since we had some time before the park opened, we took some pictures. It was so nice at the Magic Kingdom that day, there was hardly anyone there. The kids were able to go on every ride they wanted some multiple times and they got to see Mickey and Minnie. Cole was chosen to be part of the Jack Sparrow Show and he even got to sword fight with him. Then they called any of the other kids up who wanted to become honorary pirates up and Cooper and Brock joined Cole up on the stage. Right at the end of the day it started pouring rain!! We headed out to the bus stop and it took us an hour and 45 minutes to get back to our timeshare. </span></div><div><span style="font-size:130%;"></span> </div><div><span style="font-size:130%;"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 267px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5572521701117612082" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEjknKKXF0NK_fJYDehNFejik3dlxEfPvDNkL42SDHnRNv6nXTWPaAI9fXQxvDYuTmOpH4sdNCLsoJ_zPreDmONFqx-69I3HK_cKic3Q0yR0s58Fp9q-Sp2KNc9nZW2cYgDkhQrTMF_CVA/s400/IMG_0110.JPG" /> <img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 267px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5572521692026329842" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUQO-aUhGid-tx9kBBFp7B0ZKO68OUvs-OE686yVsyinaw_khXPEb1L_luE5QB9Uzom11jXMoaTdznnORchze2QQ63myZ83Pzvh-K8PKOmhJPupsD8asAQo9sjQ8VAeE8tuEHNysegSgg0/s400/IMG_0084.JPG" />

<br />We went to Animal Kingdom today. It was really neat to see all the animals up close. The kids liked the expedition Everest ride. We saw the Finding Nemo show and The Lion King Show. <br /> We went back to Hollywood Studios today. We had to make a mad dash to get fast passes for the Toy Story Mania ride. We went on Tower of Terror (even Brock), Rockin Roller Coaster, watched an awesome stunt show, the Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast. Rachel was picked to be part of the Beauty and the Beast show. <br />Today we went to Epcot Center. We rode Test Track, Mission Space, Soarin, and I took Cooper on Finding Nemo. We ate at the Steakhouse in Canada. It was really good food. Then we took a trip around the World at the World Showcase. They have a Kim Possible game the kids played. They loved it. They gave them a Kimunicator and they had to go to different countries and find clues to solve a mystery. It was really neat. </span></div><div><span style="font-size:130%;"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 267px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5572522726317550994" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzJ_CmxCulcJpwnbmDgIzUK8KqvYrXfmOAEUoHlKgtolK42-WHJNylcLrykebufYhHr9sTieS0Dni8YUX-zMoJ9FFn3DHeyyW_SNhfdYcHUYcQGoZfxMhhsDAlBxIYvgejAcSEMVT_0icw/s400/IMG_0230.JPG" /> Sat Jan 29th
<br />We headed to Magic Kingdom one more time. I was done by this point with rides but our friends the Sloan’s had moved to Florida since we had seen them last so they came down for the day to spend with all of us. It was good to see them. Then we headed for the airport, we had a late but much easier flight this time. We flew to Atlanta had a hour layover and then left at 10:00pm to fly back to Denver. By 10:30pm all the kids were asleep. They woke up long enough to make it out to the car and into their beds.
<br />We had a great trip and we were so happy that we could spend it with family! Thanks for all our help with the kids so we could all enjoy everything together.

The time has flown by so fast! He lucked out and because we have moved to the "North Pole" as my mom has called it and the weather has literally been below Zero degrees for the past 2 days. School was canceled. I will tell you what, these boys are never gonna get used to what it is like to go to school for an extended period of time. They go for like two weeks and then something comes up and they have a few days off. But it was nice to spend the day relaxing with the boys. Cole had requested to have Stromboli and an ice cream cake for his birthday. He is following in Caleb's footsteps and is getting his own special trip for his Birthday. Next Wednesday, Cole and Tank are flying to Vegas for a few days. He is getting the royal treatment. He is going to spend time with his grandparents and aunts and uncles and cousins from both sides while he is there. He gets to go up to St. George (lucky) and then have a Party at Chuck E. Cheese on Friday in Vegas. So the two of them should have a blast. </span></div><div align="left"><span style="font-size:130%;"></span> </div><div align="left"><span style="font-size:130%;">As always...
