Cole's Birthday Party

Well I am a little late with posting but you know what they say! Better late than never!! This year we decided to do a repeat of last year. We took Cole and some of his friends to Classic Fun Center.

He had a lot of fun last year and I thought this would be the easiest way for him to have all of his school friends there with him. I know as a mom I am more inclined to let my kids go to a birthday party of a kid that I have never met their parents, if the party was in a public place.

The kids had a blast they did the bounce houses, Pirates Cove, and arcade games. There were a ton of kids there so I ended up pacing back and forth between all the things to make sure we didn't lose anyone.
Grandma Eves made Cole one of the cool cupcake cakes for his birthday and we decorated in Star Wars Legos. Overall it was a great party and a lot of fun for all the kids!

We've been Robbed!!!

That is exactly what I thought about a month and half ago when I woke up! We had had a buglar and he was hungry! Here is the evidence that let me to believe this.....

We had bought cupcakes for Cole's birthday but had been so busy that night we never got around to eating them.

There were orginally 6 cupcakes one for each of us but as I said before this was one hungry burglar. I have watched my fair share of NCIS and CSI NY that I knew just how to examine this crime scene. First I followed the clues. There were Superman rings and cupcake wrappers in the trash (at least he was a little tidy) I looked on the floor and there was a huge circle of green frosting that had a dried wipe in the center. (So he had tried to clean up but made things worse!)



I followed crumbs to a bedroom only to find more clues. There were green handprints on the dresser and the TV and a half eaten cupcake on the ground. I thought to myself that this burglar must have been coming down from a sugar high! I knew I was getting close. As I turned around I found the burglar just like this!!!!

This year for our family Vacation we decided to go to San Diego. I found this thing online called the Go San Diego Card. It is really cool if you are planning on being in San Diego for a while. We got the 3 day card and it included all sorts of stuff including Legoland, the Aquarium at Legoland, Petco Park Tour, All the museums at Balboa Park, The San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park and much more.
We left Syracuse on Sunday to drive to St. George. When we got there we got to visit with Grandma and Grandpa Criddle, Ryan, Daylemarie, Jayla and Kenedy. It was nice to see all of them. We all got a chance to hold cute Kenedy but Cole was loving the chance to hold her. It was so cute.

Monday morning we headed to San Diego, the usual 7 hour trip took 9 hours. (this time it was not the boys fault!) There was some holiday traffic due to MLK day and then it started pouring rain. That should have been our first sign. It rained on and off for the next 5 days. But when it rained it dumped buckets and buckets of rain (it was said to be the worst storm since 1934!) We finally checked-in to our Timeshare (Worldmark, Tank and I got this for Christmas)
So worth it especially with all the rain.

Tuesday we went to the Zoo, we walked about a 1/4 of the zoo and then took the Skyfari over to the other side of the zoo, then we got on the guided Bus tour just in time. It started pouring but we were nice and dry in the bus. After lunch we headed to Balboa Park to visit the Hall of Champions, Automotive, Air and Space, Model Train Museum (Brocks Favorite). They were all really neat. Then we headed to the San Diego Temple to walk the grounds.

Wednesday Morning we headed to downtown to Petco Park (Padres Stadium) for a guided tour, (Calebs Favorite). It was really neat to go down on the field and see the dugouts and lockerooms. Then Tank and Caleb and Cole headed to the Miramar Speed Circuit to drive indoor race cars that could reach speeds of up to 40 mph. In the meantime, my Mom, Cooper, Brock and me headed to the Birch Aquarium in Scripps. There was a really cool wall in the Aquarium that was all glass and on the other side was the ocean and you could see all the fish.

Thursday we were supposed to go to Legoland but the once again the rain caused Legoland to close Thursday and Friday. So we went to the Aquarium at Legoland on Thursday and headed to our new Worldmark resort in Oceanside. Friday we hung out and then met Tank's sister Monica and her husband Doug for dinner.

Saturday we finally got to go to Legoland. The boys loved it. It was just the right age group for all of them. We had a fun time. Then we drove back to Vegas and spent the night with the Hafens. The boys were so excited to see their cousins. Sunday morning we spent a little while with Tanks parents and then headed up to St. George. Monday morning we headed back home. It was a really fun trip and it was great to see and spend time with family!

Happy Birthday Cole!!

Happy 6th Birthday Cole! I can hardly believe it has been six years. You are such a great little boy. Keeping with the Birthday tradition I started this year, here are 6 things I love about you!!

1. You are such a sweet little boy! You are always so good to little kids especially your baby brother Cooper.

2. You are so funny! I love to hear your Yoda impressions! You are always surprising me with your funny comments!

3. You are such a hard worker! You have done so well in school this year with your reading and your speech.

4. You are awesome at doing puzzles and legos. You are so smart and amaze me all the time with how well you do at putting together these things.

5. You are great at coloring. You always do such a nice job staying in the lines and making every picture look so nice.

6. I love you for being you. You are the perfect fit for our family and such a great example for all those around you!! We love you tons Colee!!!

Basketball Anyone??

Caleb had his Birthday Party on Saturday January 16th. I kept asking him what he wanted to do for his Birthday and he kept saying he wanted to play basketball. So we decided to have a pizza party and then head over to the church to play basketball. Easy enough for me, I never like planning games and keeping a group entertained. So we ordered pizza had lunch, opened presents, had an awesome basketball cake thanks Grandma Eves! and then headed over to the church to play basketball. Caleb is always happy with a ball in his hand. Overall, it was a very easy and fun party.

Happy 9th Birthday Caleb! You are such a great kid! I love you so much! You have such a fun personality. Here is a list of the top "9" things I love about you.

1. Your sense of humor. (It has to be good because you always laugh at my jokes.)

2. Your Competitive Nature. (Sometimes it is a bit too much but it is also something that can't be taught and it will help you succeed in life.)

3. Your sweet spirit (You are such a great example to your younger brothers, showing them how to choose the right)

4. Your passion for sports (I don't know another 9 around who knows as much as you do about sports)

5. Your great fashion sense. (Thanks for picking my outfit for me when dad won't)

6. Your creative mind( I love reading your short stories and hearing the next pretend games you play with your brothers)

7. Your great taste in food. (You are the only one of our kids who will eat everything on his plate and go for seconds no matter what I fix)

8. Your sensitivity. ( I am sure this is one that will fade as you grow into a teenager but for right now I love that you are concerned for your Mom when things are bad)

9. Last but not least I love everything that make you YOU!!! We are so lucky that you are in our family!!

Santa Claus, The Tooth Fairy, and the Mean Lady!!

This year we had a very good yet low key Christmas! We just stayed here and hung out as a family all day. The boys slept in until about 7:15. We got up and went out to see what Santa had brought. All the boys were super excited with all of their presents. Brock got the very much talked about parking garage with an elevator that goes up and down, Tool bench, Power wheels jeep, some books, a scooter, cars, pjs, buzz lightyear shoes, and clothes. Cooper got a sports slide, shopping cart, little Einsteins piano, books, cars, clothes, pjs, laptop and sippy cups. Cole got his beloved Star Wars movie Collection (all 6 movies and even Star wars the Clone wars) Scooter, clothes, Star Wars Legos, pjs, books, and Foosball, Air hockey and Ping pong table. Caleb got NBA Live 10 for the PS3, Crammer (leapfrog IPOD), Books, Nerf Dart Tag game, Clothes, Pjs. basketball shoes, scooter, basketball cards and Foosball, Air hockey and Ping Pong table. Thanks to everyone who gave us such great gifts!

Cole Lost his First tooth on December 23rd. He was so funny he had asked me about a month or so ago, when he was going to lose a tooth. I told him, I didn't know Caleb was in 1st grade before he lost one so we would have to wait and see. About a week before school got out he came home and told me he had a tooth growing behind one of us baby teeth. Sure enough there it was, I wiggled the tooth in front of it and it was loose. I told him it was loose and he was so excited he got tears in his eyes. So here comes December 23rd and the tooth needs to come out and for some strange reason this has fall under the Mom category. So I pushed and pulled on that tooth and he was crying and I was losing my patience and the next thing you know I have the tooth out and I show it to him and then he starts laughing and crying at the same time. He was so excited about losing that tooth.

Saturday the 26th, a guy Tank has met through work, invited our whole family to go to the Jazz Game with them and sit in the suite. So we all got our Jazz Gear on and headed to Salt Lake. It was fun I spent the 1st half of the game either feeding someone else or myself. The second half I watched the boys run from seat to seat. In the beginning of the 4th quarter, Brock was standing by the overlook and watching the game and he came running up to me and said thatMean Lady just yelled at me "knock it off right now" I said what we were you doing he said " I was dumping my sippy cup of water on her." So I took the sippy cup away from him and put away. Wouldn't you know about 5 minutes later, here comes the security guard asking us if we were throwing stuff over the edge. I told him what had happened and that we had fixed the problem. he left but not before telling me to watch Brock better. What a great impression we make on these new people we had just met and were kind enough to invite us in their suite. Well I guess they need to know what they are getting themselves into when you invite Brocker Rockers along.
